Beauty is only skin deep – The retouching process of Aisha and Sarfraz, and Rooma and Naeem Indian Wedding Ceremony and Reception Photography

The phrase ‘Beauty is only skin deep’ has taken on a whole new meaning here at AACreation. The interns and I have recently been fine tuning our approach to professional retouching, with a special focus on creating flawless and luxurious skin.

The results have rendered some truly beautiful portraits for our South Asian brides. It’s the bride’s time to shine inside and out during her big day (shaadi), so we want to give the bride (dulhan) everything we got! We experimented with two beautiful late-summer brides, Aisha and Rooma, and decided to post up the beginning, middle and end stages of the retouching process.

Aisha Ismail and Sarfraz Khan were wedded on June 7th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Irvine. They had a beautiful wedding, which went just right with the beautiful bride. Here’s how the process looks:

A beautiful bride! Now for the initial touch-ups...

Stage 1 - This is the way Aisha's picture was taken out of the Camera with no edits. It was a South Asian Pakistani Muslim Wedding Reception.

Getting warmer...Almost there...

Stage 2 - In the picture above we just adjusted the colors and brightness and contrast. (This is how the client gets the digital negatives.)

Wha-lah! Aisha's finished product!

Stage 3 - The picture above is custom enhanced for printing. It has been color corrected and adjusted for optimal color balance and skin tone. (basic retouching on mild acne, shiny foreheads, reflection in eyeglasses, laugh lines and other small imperfections.)
